Petr Salak

Petr is Managing Director of Dr. Sauer & Partners in Israel and a Principal Tunnel Engineer with extensive international experience in the design and delivery of underground infrastructure. Over the past decade, he has led major projects across Europe and the Middle East, including Tel Aviv’s Metro Line 2 and the Manara Hydropower Plant.
Petr co-founded Think Deep UK (TDUK) in alignment with the vision of ITACUS (the ITA Committee on Underground Space), promoting sustainable and integrated underground space use in cities. He continues to serve on the ITACUS Steering Board and remains active within the British Tunnelling Society (BTS).
A former Vice-Chair and founder of the ITA Young Members Group and past Chair of the BTS Young Members, Petr was named Young Tunneller of the Year in 2014. He regularly contributes to international tunnelling conferences, publications and strategic industry discussions.
Outside of work, Petr enjoys time with his family, skiing, swimming, and exploring new cultures through travel.
